STORMY WEATHER
On August 20, 2015, stormy weather hit the Texas Gulf coast and surrounding areas. Lightning was a common sight. Street flooding was everywhere. Yes, Thursday, August 20, 2015 was an unusual day for birding along the Texas Gulf coast. Apparently, the birds did not mind, and neither did the four of us birders.

CONDITIONS FOR PHOTOGRAPHY
Darkness and much rain made the early hours difficult for photography. We navigated through flooded streets and roads to reach the Texas City Dike, the Bolivar Peninsula, and several beaches all the way from the San Jacinto monument to Galveston and back. As the day progressed, we were able to use our cameras. Our feathered friends were within sight and ready for photography.

PERSONALITY OR CHARACTER?
Photography shows the many features and behavior of the various species we encounter. Do birds have a personality? No, they do not. Nevertheless, they do show certain characteristics and features, which makes each species unique. They are wonderful to watch. Birders are in awe of the beauty birds exude.
